Spelt flour correction in Independent

The Independent printed a correction on 23 October to the two recent articles regarding misinformation on spelt flour.

The correction stated that spelt "contains wheat and is not safe for people who need a gluten-free diet. Spelt flour can be toxic to people with coeliac disease". This turn around is the result of a letter Sarah Sleet wrote to the editor, correcting the information in an article published on 22 September.  To read the letter, please click here.

This fantastic result is testimony to Coeliac UK's ongoing hard work to ensure that information on coeliac disease and gluten-free products is correct in the media.
