FSA consultation on loose foods labellingThe consultation process which is due to report in 2008 has now begun for the draft voluntary best practice guidance on the provision of allergen information for loose foods that are not pre-packaged. The FSA has also published the Guidance on Allergen Management & Consumer Information. This provides best practice guidance on managing food allergens with particular reference to avoiding cross-contamination and using appropriate advisory labelling (e.g. ‘may contain’ labelling).
