Anne Cramp, a Member of the Cheshire Group, went out and about in her local village during Awareness Week with gluten-free cakes, balloons and the Food Without Fear message.  She visited her daughter's class at Romiley Primary School (left); went to the Dutch Apron; the hairdressers and also to her local pharmacy.

Claudia Mason AW

Claudia Mason, an 8 year old Member of Coeliac UK, put in a lot of effort and designed a special poster with information about coeliac disease which she put up in her class and asked her classmates to 'Adopt a Fact'.  For every child that adopted a fact, Claudia's parents donated 50p and both Claudia and her sister donated their pocket money for the week.  At the end of Awareness Week a fact was pulled out of a hat and the 'adopter' won a prize. All of the children thought this was great fun and asked lots of questions and Claudia was very successful in raising awareness and funds for coeliac disease.

Debbie Sitton AW

Debbie Sitton of Devon was very active during Awareness Week and went into East Devon College, Tiverton, to give a talk about the problems people with coeliac disease face when eating out.  The talk was well received by the trainee chefs and this was a great awareness raising event.

Sainsbury's in St Andrews had an Awareness Week stand throughout the week.  They had information for customers as well as samples across the pharmacy counter.  This was a great awareness raising event as people were able to find out about coeliac disease and enjoy a gluten-free cake as they did their shopping.
